The start of 2014 see two new staff members join the RTP team. We would like to welcome Alistair Strachan and Lucy Paterson.
Alistair is joining us as our graduate Building Surveyor, being based in our Falmouth office. He began his surveying career in 2005, achieving his ATC to achieve Associate membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2008. He moved to Bristol to spend some time as an Energy Assessor and also a Maintenance Surveyor in the social housing sector for almost 3 years, before he left Bristol at the end of 2013 to join RTP. Alistair will be gaining all-round building surveying experience in the course of the next year or so, as we will be helping him work towards his APC in 2015.
Alistair hopes to progress his surveying skills and develop particular expertise in the professional services side of the practice.
Outside of surveying, Alistair likes to explore the Cornish coastline on foot, getting out and about to enjoy this beautiful county at its very best.
Of his joining RTP, Alistair says, “I’m very excited and grateful to have been given the opportunity to work for RTP Surveyors. Since graduating, I’ve been looking for somewhere that I can take the next step in my surveying career, and at RTP I’m sure I’ve found it. Cornwall is such a fantastic place to live and work; I can’t wait to get stuck into my new life, discovering everything that Cornwall has to offer.”
We also welcome Lucy to our administrative team at the Bodmin office as our Secretarial Assistant.
Lucy achieved her Level 2 and 3 Secretarial Diploma at Truro College, and is putting all that hard earned knowledge to use in supporting all of our Bodmin staff.
Outside of the office, Lucy enjoys zipping about on rollerblades, swimming and reading, recently enjoying Harry Potter and the Hunger Games, but also has now started on the classics.
For the future, Lucy says her hopes are, “To increase my skills here and improve upon those I already have from my course. I am also interested in architecture so it’s nice being in a place where I am learning more about buildings”.
Welcome, both Alistair and Lucy, we are very happy to have you here with us at the start of what we will hope will prove be a positive and fruitful year for all.
